Hello, my friends. Welcome back to Islander Cravings! Today, I’m so excited to share with you my go-to makeup products that I use every day. Some of them have been my favorites for over 10 years, which just goes to show how much I love them.
To begin with, I enjoy experimenting with new makeup products. However, due to my sensitive skin, I usually stick to the ones that work best for me. As for my daily makeup routine, I like to keep it simple. For instance, I don’t wear heavy foundation. Instead, I prefer to use the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 Skincare Foundation. It not only provides good coverage but also gives my skin a beautiful healthy glow.
Now, let’s dive a little deeper…

FAQs Section
Q: How do I determine my skin type before buying makeup products?
A: Understanding your skin type is crucial for choosing the right makeup. To determine your skin type, consider factors such as oiliness, dryness, and sensitivity.
Consult a dermatologist or use online resources to assess your skin, as this will guide you in selecting makeup products tailored to your specific needs.
Q: What ingredients should I look for in makeup products for sensitive skin?
A: For sensitive skin, opt for makeup products that are hypoallergenic and free from common irritants such as fragrances and harsh chemicals.
Look for products labeled as non-comedogenic, as they are less likely to cause breakouts. Additionally, mineral-based makeup with natural ingredients can be gentler on sensitive skin.
Q: How can I choose the right foundation shade for my skin tone?
A: When selecting a foundation shade, consider your undertones (warm, cool, or neutral) and test the product on your jawline or wrist in natural light.
Many beauty stores offer color-matching services to help you find the perfect match. Remember that your skin tone may change with the seasons, so it’s advisable to reassess your foundation shade periodically.
Q: Are cruelty-free and vegan makeup products important considerations?
A: Yes, for those who prioritize ethical and sustainable choices, opting for cruelty-free and vegan makeup products is essential.
Cruelty-free products are not tested on animals, and vegan products exclude any animal-derived ingredients. Look for certifications from organizations like PETA or Leaping Bunny to ensure the products meet these ethical standards.
Q: What is the shelf life of makeup products, and how can I ensure they stay fresh longer?
A: Makeup products have varying shelf lives, and it’s crucial to pay attention to expiration dates. Generally, mascara and liquid products have shorter shelf lives than powders.
To extend the life of your makeup, store products in a cool, dry place, and avoid exposing them to direct sunlight. Regularly clean your brushes and applicators to prevent the growth of bacteria, and replace products if they change in color, texture, or smell.
